Help/Getting started

Why does Yo-Tag need notifications and microphone access?

Both are required for calls to work properly.

When you first install Yo-Tag, the app asks for two permissions. Both are essential for calls to work.

Notifications

Yo-Tag uses Apple’s Push Notification system to wake your phone when someone calls you. Without notifications enabled, your phone won’t ring when someone tries to reach you. You’ll only see missed calls when you next open the app.

If you accidentally denied notifications, you can re-enable them in iOS Settings → Notifications → Yo-Tag.

Microphone

Yo-Tag is a calling app. To make or receive a call, the app needs to use your microphone — otherwise the other side can’t hear you. We never record calls or store audio.

If you denied microphone permission, you can re-enable it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Yo-Tag. Until you do, the app will refuse to start or accept calls and will show you an alert explaining why.

Yo-Tag never accesses your contacts, photos, or location without explicit permission.
