Does Yo-Tag use or share my phone number?

No. That’s the whole point of Yo-Tag.

You sign up with Sign in with Apple or with an email and a one-time code. We never ask for your phone number. We don’t need it.

When someone calls your tag, the call routes through Yo-Tag’s servers via the internet. Your phone number is never shared with the caller, and theirs is never shared with you.

How is this different from WhatsApp or iMessage?

WhatsApp and iMessage tie your account to your phone number. To message someone, you usually need their number first. Yo-Tag uses a memorable handle instead — so you can be reached by people who don’t have your number, and you don’t need theirs to reach them.
